    Loosen the wheel lug nuts.

    Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove the wheel.

    Remove the undercover.

    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of the steering gear and linkage assembly. Shows the rack-and-pinion steering gear, tie-rod ends, ball joints, and steering knuckle with numbered balloon callouts 1–6 for: cotter pin, locknut, tie-rod end, intermediate shaft bolt, mounting bracket bolt, and steering gear and linkage. Torque values are annotated: 18—26 N·m at the intermediate shaft bolt (4), 29—39 N·m at the locknut (2), 46—59 N·m at the mounting bracket bolt (5). 'REPLACE' label near the cotter pin (1). 'SST' label near tie-rod end (3). A detail circle (top) shows the intermediate shaft U-joint alignment.
