Replacement

Battery replacement using the Mazda genuine battery replacement kit is as follows.

Battery Replacement

    Remove the battery cover.

    Disconnect the battery cables from the battery.
    The negative battery cable must be removed first and installed last.

    Remove the battery clamp.

    Remove the battery.
  5. 5
    Disconnect the battery vent hoses.
  6. 6
    Remove the battery tray.
  7. 7
    Remove the battery bracket.
  8. 8
    Reverse the battery clamp bracket as shown.
    Reversing the battery clamp bracket. Inset shows the bracket with a REVERSE arrow indicating it should be flipped over. Two positions labelled A and B show the original and new mounting locations of the bracket.

    Change the position of the battery bracket A to B as shown.
  10. 10
    Install the new battery using the battery replacement kit (Part number NAY1 56 020A).
    Install the battery vent hoses correctly to reduce the possibility of injury or fire.
    New battery installed with the genuine battery replacement kit components (tray, clamp, vent hoses) in position.
