- 1Clean and tighten the battery terminals and cables.
- 2Coat the terminals with grease.
- 3Inspect for corroded or frayed battery cables.
- 4Check the rubber protector on the positive terminal for proper coverage.

WARNING
Before performing maintenance or recharging the battery, turn off all accessories and stop the engine.
The negative battery cable must be removed first and installed last.
CAUTION
Do not removed vent caps.
Follow carefully the instructions of the battery charger to prevent overcharging.
Recharging procedure
- 1Remove the battery cover.
- 2Disconnect the battery cables from the battery.
- 3Measure and record the voltage between the battery terminals.
- 4Decide the charging current and charging time by referring to the figure below.
