G-22prose procedure

IGNITER

Inspection

Igniter inspection

  1. 1
    Disconnect the igniter connector.
Do not ground the power connector terminal (Blue: 1-pin), the wiper 20A fuse will be burned.
  2. 2
Connect the SST between the igniter and igniter connector as shown.

  3. 3
Connect the SST to the power connector (Blue: 1-pin).
  4. 4
Connect a voltmeter between the SST (brown wire) and a ground.

  5. 5
    Turn the ignition switch ON.
  6. 6
Verify that there is approx. 12V at the terminal. If not as specified, check related wiring.
  7. 7
Push the SW2 switch on the SST while observing the ohmmeter.
Do not activate the SW2 switch for more than 1 sec.
Bench illustration of the SW2 PUSH switch on the SST connected through an ohmmeter/voltmeter to a BROWN OR GRAY lead and ground, showing the voltmeter reading approx. 8V when SW2 is pushed.

  8. 8
Verify that the voltmeter indicates approx. 8V.
  9. 9
If not as specified, replace the igniter.
  10. 10
Disconnect the voltmeter from the brown wire and connect it to the SST gray wire.
  11. 11
    Repeat Steps 5 through 9.

HIGH-TENSION LEAD

Inspection
