Cage, inner ring, and balls (continued)

    Align the marks, then install a new clip.
    Hands installing the cage/inner ring assembly onto the driveshaft with the alignment MARKS visible on the outer ring.

    Set the boots onto the rings.
    Hand lifting up the small end of the CV boot to release trapped air after setting the boot onto the ring.

    Measure the driveshaft length. If not within specification, return to Step 1.
    Standard length (On-vehicle): 659.3mm (25.957 in)

    Fold the band back by pulling on the end of it with pliers.
    Always use a new band.
    The band should be folded in the direction opposite the forward revolving direction of the driveshaft.

    Lock the end of the band by bending the locking clips.
