DIFFERENTIAL OIL

Inspection

  1. 1
    Remove the filler plug.

    Verify that the oil is at the bottom of the filler plug hole. If it is low, add the specified oil.
  3. 3
    Install the filler plug.
Tightening torque (filler plug)
382 - 530N·m

Replacement

  1. 1
    Remove the filler and drain plugs.

    Drain the differential oil into a suitable container.
  3. 3
    Wipe the plugs clean.
  4. 4
    Install the drain plug and washer.
  5. 5
    Add the specified oil from the filler plug until the level reaches the bottom of the plug hole.

    Install the filler plug.

Replacement

  1. 1
    Jack up the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
  2. 2
    Drain the differential gear oil.
    Mark the driveshaft and output shaft flanges for proper reassembly.
