SHOCK ABSORBER AND SPRING

Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

Remove the undercover.

Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.

Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

Install in the reverse order of removal.

Tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques, referring to the figure.
Loosely tighten the shock absorber, upper arm, stabilizer control link, and stabilizer bracket bolts. Lower the vehicle and tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques with the vehicle unladed.

Adjust the front wheel alignment. (Refer to page R-6.)

Stabilizer control link bolt (2)3.7-5.5 m-kg, 27-40 ft-lb

36 - 54N·m

Upper arm ball joint (3)4.2-6.2 m-kg, 30-45 ft-lb; REPLACE

41 - 61N·m

Mounting plate nut (4)2.3-3.0 m-kg, 17-22 ft-lb

23 - 29N·m

Wheel nut9.0-12.0 m-kg, 65-87 ft-lb

88 - 118N·m

Lower arm ball joint nut6.4-9.5 m-kg, 46-69 ft-lb
