Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of the rear lower arm assembly. Numbered callouts: (1) Wheel and tire, (2) Stabilizer control link bolt, (3) Shock absorber bolt, (4) Lower arm, (5) Lower arm bushing (with REPLACE labels at multiple bushing locations). Notes: PARAFFIN BASED RUBBER OIL (SUNPAR 107 OR EQUIVALENT). Torque specs in N-m (m-kg, ft-lb): 73-95 (7.4-9.7, 54-70) at upper inner pivot, 36-54 (3.7-5.5, 27-40), 63-75 (6.4-7.6, 46-55), 63-93 (6.4-9.5, 46-69), 88-118 (9.0-12.0, 65-87) wheel.

    Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal.
    Loosely tighten the lower arm, shock absorber, and stabilizer control link bolts. Lower the vehicle and tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques with the vehicle unladed.

    Adjust the rear wheel alignment. (Refer to page R-9.)
