Lower Arm - Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the front of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove the undercover.
  3. 3
    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of front double-wishbone lower arm assembly. Numbered callouts: (1) wheel and tire, (2) stabilizer control link bolt, (3) shock absorber bolt, (4) lower arm ball joint, (5) lower arm bushing (front and rear), (6) ball joint dust boot, (7) lower arm. Torque values annotated next to fasteners in N-m (m-kg, ft-lb). 'REPLACE' tags shown on ball joint and bushings. PARAFFIN BASED RUBBER OIL (SUNPAR 107 OR EQUIVALENT) note next to bushing.

    Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.
  6. 6
    Tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques, referring to the figure.
    Loosely tighten the lower arm, shock absorber, and stabilizer control link bolts. Lower the vehicle and tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques with the vehicle unladed.

    Adjust the front wheel alignment. (Refer to page R-6.)
