Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove in the order shown in the figure.
    Exploded view of the rear stabilizer (sway-bar) assembly. Numbered callouts: (1) Stabilizer bracket, (2) Stabilizer bushing, (3) Stabilizer (bar), (4) Control link. Torque values shown: 18-26 N-m (1.8-2.7 m-kg, 13-20 ft-lb) at bracket bolt; 36-54 N-m (3.7-5.5 m-kg, 27-40 ft-lb) at control link bolts.

    Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.
    Loosely tighten the stabilizer bracket and control link bolts. Lower the vehicle and tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques with the vehicle unladed.

Installation note - Stabilizer bushing

    Align the bushing with the installation mark on the stabilizer.
    Two detail views (RIGHT SIDE and LEFT SIDE) showing the alignment of the stabilizer bushing relative to the installation mark on the stabilizer bar; hand positions show direction of installation.
