Removal / Inspection / Installation

    Jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it with safety stands.

    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of the rear upper arm assembly. Callouts: (1) Upper arm with mounting bolts, (2) Upper arm bushing with REPLACE label and note PARAFFIN BASED RUBBER OIL (SUNPAR 107 OR EQUIVALENT). Torque specs: 46-67 N-m (4.7-6.8 m-kg, 34-49 ft-lb) at upper arm pivot bolts (two locations) and 88-118 N-m (9.0-12.0 m-kg, 65-87 ft-lb) at wheel nut.

    Inspect all parts and repair or replace as necessary.

    Install in the reverse order of removal.
    Loosely tighten the upper arm bolts. Lower the vehicle and tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified torques with the vehicle unladed.

    Adjust the rear wheel alignment. (Refer to page R-9.)
