- 1Turn the extension housing to remove it.

- 1Remove the transmission case from the intermediate housing and gear assembly with the SST.

Oil seal (rear)
CAUTION
Do not damage the mainshaft splines.
Oil seal (rear) on-vehicle replacement
- 1Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
- 2Drain the transmission oil into a suitable container.
05U0JX-013 - 3Remove the exhaust pipe.
- 4Remove the propeller shaft. (Refer to Section L.)
- 5Remove the oil seal from the extension housing.
- 6Apply transmission oil to outer periphery.
- 7Install a new oil seal with the SST.
05U0JX-014 - 8Install the propeller shaft. (Refer to Section L.)
- 9Install the exhaust pipe.
- 10Add the specified oil from check plug (A) port until the level reaches the bottom of the check plug hole. (Refer to page J-8.)
