Inspection
Check the fluid level in the reservoir. It should be between MAX and MIN.
If the fluid level is extremely low, check the brake system for leaks.

CAUTION
The fluid in the reservoir must be maintained at 3/4 level or higher during bleeding.
Do not allow the brake fluid to get on painted surfaces.
Replacement
- 1Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir with a suction pump.
05U0PX-010 - 2Fill the reservoir with clean brake fluid.
- 3Attach a vinyl tube to the bleeder screw and place the other end of the tube in a clear container.
- 4Pump out the old brake fluid by loosening the bleeder screws one by one and pumping the brake pedal until only clean fluid is expelled.
- 5Fill the reservoir to the specified level.

Pedal height
Check that the distance from the center of the upper surface of the pedal pad to the carpet is as specified.

Adjustment
- 1Disconnect the stoplight switch connector.
05U0PX-011 - 2Loosen locknut (B) and turn switch (A) until it does not contact the pedal.
- 3Loosen locknut (B) and turn rod (C) to adjust the height.
- 4Adjust the pedal free play and tighten operating rod locknut.
- 5Turn the stoplight switch until it contacts the pedal; then turn an additional 1/2 turn. Tighten the locknut.
