Symbols (left column)
Battery
MeaningGenerates electricity through chemical reaction. Supplies direct current to circuits.
Ground (1)
MeaningConnecting point to vehicle body or other ground wire where current flows from positive to negative terminal of battery. Ground (1) indicates a ground point to body through wire harness. Ground (2) indicates point where component is grounded directly to body. Remark: Current will not flow through a circuit if ground is faulty.
Ground (2)
MeaningSee Ground (1).
Fuse (1) (box)
MeaningMelts when current flow exceeds that specified for circuit, stopping current flow. Precautions: Do not replace with fuses exceeding specified capacity. Types: Box type, Cartridge type.
Fuse (2) (Cartridge)
MeaningSee Fuse (1).
Main fuse/Fusible link
MeaningMain fuse; Fusible link.
Transistor (1) NPN
MeaningElectrical switching component. Turns on when voltage is applied to the base (B). Collector indication mark on B, E, C body.
Transistor (2) PNP
MeaningReading code 2 S C 828 A: Semiconductor / Number of terminals / Revision mark / A: High-frequency PNP / B: Low-frequency PNP / C: High-frequency NPN / D: Low-frequency NPN.
Lamp (3.4 W)
MeaningEmits light and generates heat when current flows through filament.

Resistance
MeaningA resistor with a constant value. Mainly used to protect electrical components in circuits by maintaining rated voltage. Reading resistance values for Colored type: No.1 Color band = First color (Resistance values), No.2 Color band = Second color (Resistance values), No.3 Color band = Multiplier, No.4 Color band = Tolerance. Narrow/Wide stripe widths.

MeaningPulls in and expels gases and liquids.

MeaningElectrical coil that generates heat.
