Fuel Line Pressure Inspection

Fuel Line Pressure Inspection

  1. 1
    Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
    Hand disconnecting the negative battery terminal in the engine bay as the first step of the fuel line pressure inspection.

    Install a fuel pressure gauge between the fuel pipe and the fuel main hose. (Install clamps as shown.)
    Fuel pressure gauge installed between the fuel pipe and the fuel main hose using hose clamps for fuel line pressure measurement.

    Connect the negative battery terminal.
  4. 4
    Connect diagnosis connector terminals F/P and GND with a jumper wire.
    Diagnosis connector with labelled terminals 'GND' and 'F/P' and a jumper wire connected — used to turn the fuel pump on for the pressure measurement.

    Turn the ignition switch ON.
  6. 6
    Measure the fuel line pressure.

Fuel Line Pressure Troubleshooting

Pressure low
ActionCheck fuel pump maximum pressure. (Refer to page F-108.) If as specified, fuel line or fuel filter might be clogged or restricted.
Pressure high
ActionReplace the pressure regulator. (Refer to page F-111.)
