The deceleration control system consists of the fuel cut operation and the dashpot.
1. Dashpot: To prevent the throttle valves from suddenly closing.
2. Fuel cut: To improve the fuel economy and to prevent engine bucking during deceleration.

Dashpot Inspection
- 1Open the throttle valve fully. Push the dashpot rod with a finger and verify that it goes into the dashpot slowly.
05U0FX-190 - 2Release the rod and check that it comes out quickly.
- 3Replace the dashpot if necessary.
- 4Warm up the engine and run it at idle.
05U0FX-191 - 5Connect a tachometer to the engine, and increase the engine speed to 4,000 rpm.
- 6Slowly decrease the engine speed and check that the lever touches the dashpot rod as specified.Specification: 2,500 ± 150 rpm
- 7If not as specified, loosen the locknut and turn the dashpot to adjust.
