NOTE
• If necessary, remove the pulley with a steering wheel puller (commercially available).
Timing belt pulley removal
- 1Remove the timing belt pulley.

Oil seal
Oil seal removal
- 1Cut the oil seal lip with a razor knife.
05U0BX-063 - 2Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver protected with a rag.

- 1Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the lip of a new oil seal.
- 2Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.
- 3Tap the oil seal in evenly with a suitable pipe and a hammer.The oil seal must be tapped in until it is flush with the edge of the oil pump body.

- 1Install the timing belt pulley.
- 2Install the pulley Woodruff key with the tapered side toward the oil pump body.

- 2Tighten the pulley lock bolt using the SST.

Steps After Installation
- 1Install the under cover.
- 2Fill the radiator with the specified amount and type of engine coolant. (Refer to page E-5.)
- 3Connect the negative battery cable.
- 4Start the engine and check as follows: (1) Engine coolant leakage. (2) Ignition timing. (Refer to page B-8.)
- 5Recheck the engine coolant levels.
