Disassembly Note

Crankshaft pulley

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel with the SST.
    Flywheel/ring gear with SST 49 E301 060 ring gear brake installed to hold the flywheel during crankshaft pulley removal.

    Loosen the crankshaft pulley lock bolts.
  3. 3
    Remove the plate, crankshaft pulley, timing belt outer guide plate, and timing belt inner guide plate.

Timing belt

  1. 1
    Loosen the tensioner lock bolt.
    To prevent damage to the tensioner, secure it with a rag.
    Timing belt tensioner area with arrow indicating the TENSIONER LOCK BOLT to be loosened.

    Temporarily secure the tensioner with the spring fully extended.
  3. 3
    Remove the timing belt.
    Mark the timing belt rotation for proper reinstallation.
    Timing belt removed with DIRECTION ARROW marker indicating the rotation mark to be made before removal.

Timing belt pulley

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel with the SST.
    Flywheel held by SST 49 E301 060 ring gear brake while loosening the timing belt pulley lock bolt.

    Loosen the pulley lock bolt.
  3. 3
    Remove the pulley lock bolt.
  4. 4
    Remove the timing belt pulley.
    If necessary, remove the pulley with a steering wheel puller (commercially available).
    Steering wheel puller (commercially available) being used to remove the timing belt pulley from the crankshaft.

    Remove the pulley Woodruff key.
