Rear Oil Seal Removal
- 1Cut the oil seal lip with a razor knife.
05U0BX-063 - 2Remove the oil seal with a screwdriver protected with a rag.

Rear Oil Seal Installation
- 1Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to the lip of a new oil seal.
- 2Push the oil seal slightly in by hand.The oil seal must be tapped in until it is flush with the edge of the rear cover.
- 3Tap the oil seal in evenly with a suitable pipe and a hammer.

Flywheel
Flywheel Installation
- 1Remove the sealant from the flywheel bolt holes in the crankshaft and from the flywheel bolts.If all the previous sealant cannot be removed from a bolt, replace the bolt.Do not apply sealant if a new bolt is used.
- 2Set the flywheel onto the crankshaft.
- 3Apply sealant to the flywheel bolts and install them.
05U0BX-070 - 4Hold the flywheel with the SST.
05U0BX-071 - 5Tighten the bolts in two or three steps in the order shown in the figure.

Steps After Installation
- 1Connect the negative battery cable.
- 2Start the engine and perform engine adjustments as necessary.
