Rear Oil Seal Replacement

    Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. 2
    Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.
    Exploded view of transmission/clutch/flywheel/rear oil seal showing (1) transmission, (2) clutch cover/clutch disc with SST and torque 18-26 N·m (1.8-2.7 m-kg, 13-20 ft-lb), (3) flywheel with SST and torque 96-103 N·m (9.8-10.5, 71-76), and (4) oil seal marked REPLACE.

    Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.

Flywheel removal

  1. 1
    Hold the flywheel with the SST.
    Removing the flywheel with SST 49 E301 060 holding it in place. Shows the flywheel and SST mounted at the bottom of the engine.

    Remove the flywheel lock bolts.

    Remove the flywheel.
