ENGINE TUNE-UP PROCEDURE
B-8prose procedureIGNITION TIMING, IDLE SPEED
Preparation
- 1Check the engine condition (spark plugs, leaks in hoses, etc.).
- 2Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
- 3Make sure all accessories are OFF.Do not ground the power connector terminal (Blue: 1-pin); the wiper 20A fuse will be burned. When using an externally powered timing light and/or tachometer, connect it to the power connector (Blue: 1-pin).
05U0BX-278 - 4Connect a timing light and a tachometer to the diagnosis connector terminal IG-.Be extremely careful when making connections to the diagnosis connector because a mistaken connection will cause a malfunction.
05U0BX-288 - 5Connect the SST.
05U0BX-279 - 6Set the SST switch A to 1 position and test switch to SELF TEST position. If the SST is not used, jump across the (TEN) terminal and the (GND) terminal of the diagnosis connector.
