Step 5

  1. 1
    Remove the faulty door speaker cover and speaker installation screws.
    Door panel with the door speaker removed and held away on its harness. Illustrates Step 5 - removing the faulty door speaker cover and installation screws.

    Check if the speaker is properly connected.
  3. 3
    If necessary, repair or reconnect the connector.
  4. 4
    If the connection is OK, go to Step 6.

Step 6

  1. 1
    Disconnect the connector from the suspected faulty speaker.
    Multimeter / ohmmeter measuring resistance across the terminals of a door speaker. Illustrates Step 6 - measuring 4 ohm resistance between speaker terminals.

    Measure resistance between terminals of the speaker.
  3. 3
    If not as specified, replace the speaker.
    Resistance: 4 ohm
  4. 4
    If the resistance is OK, go to Step 7.

Step 7

  1. 1
    Disconnect the 12-pin connector of the audio unit.

    Disconnect both door speakers.
  3. 3
    Check for continuity of the following wires of the door speakers wire harness.
  4. 4
    If not as specified, repair the faulty wiring.
  5. 5
    If the wiring is OK, replace the audio unit.
