Step 1 — Preparation

  1. 1
    Remove the instrument cluster. (Refer to page T-33.)
  2. 2
    Connect a test tachometer between terminals 1H and 2J of the harness side connector.
    Test tachometer connected between harness-side terminals 1H and 2J on the back of the instrument cluster opening (Step 1 — Preparation).

Step 2

  1. 1
    Start the engine.
  2. 2
    Check that the test tachometer indicates engine speed.
    Same harness-side test setup at terminals 1H and 2J with TEST TACHOMETER attached, used in Step 2 (engine running).
