Step 4

  1. 1
    Turn on the ignition switch.
    DRL unit connector for Step 4: top row (G/Y)(B)(W/R)(L/Y); bottom row (L)(G/W)(G/B)(G/O)(R). A test lead/voltmeter probes the G/B and G/W terminals.

    Turn on the headlight switch.
  3. 3
    Check the voltage at the following terminal-wires of the DRL unit connector.
  4. 4
    If not as specified, repair the wire harness. (Turn and hazard warning flasher unit — DRL unit)
  5. 5
    If correct, replace the DRL unit.

Step 5

  1. 1
    Turn on the ignition switch.
    DRL unit connector for Step 5: top row (G/Y)(B)(W/R)(L/Y); bottom row (L)(G/W)(G/B)(G/O)(R). Voltmeter probes the R terminal to check 0V at the parking-brake input.

    Pull the parking brake lever more than one notch.
  3. 3
    Check the voltage at terminal-wire (R) of the DRL unit connector.
  4. 4
    If not as specified, go to Step 6.
  5. 5
    If correct, replace the DRL unit.

  1. 1
    Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
    Parking brake assembly with the parking-brake switch connector disconnected; an ohmmeter test lead is being attached to the switch terminal and a body ground for the continuity check.

    Check continuity between the terminal of the switch and a body ground.
  3. 3
    If not as specified, adjust or replace the parking brake switch.
  4. 4
    If correct, repair wires (R) and (L/Y). (Parking brake switch — DRL unit)
